Our Future
We are always looking for ways to improve and enrich the lives of our residents. We’ve created a variety of future programs to better serve our residents, make our facility more sustainable and support our local community. These are just a few of the programs we will be launching in the near future.
The Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry
Our food cooperative is sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Arlington Dioceses in partnership with Loving Arms Assisted Living and the local community. We provides food to the hungry. We don’t put any restrictions on income; instead, we provide food to anyone who needs it.
Sustainable “Green” Efforts
Aquaponic systems combine aquaculture and hydroponics in one symbiotic system. Fish and plants grow together in a soilless system, providing food and filtering that each needs to survive.
The Aquaponic System that is planned for Loving Arms will create a sustainable system that will provide food and fossil fuel that will feed residents and power the Loving Arms facility. Loving Arms is currently seeking grants for the 96×150 foot green house that will serve as a home for the 12 Aquaponic pods to grow fresh vegetables and tilapia.
Once the Aquaponic System has been completed, Loving Arms will be looking into solar paneling and wind-powered energy; creating a truly “green” facility that will grow and reduce the carbon emissions, helping keep the Valley lush and beautiful for generations.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Our Lady of Perpetual Help will be a donor supported, nonprofit, scaled living house. Impoverished residents will pay what they can, but no more. An 8-bed property in Front Royal has already been selected and there is future expansion planned for a 24-bed, 3-bedroom house.
